Number Eight is one of those rare places that you cannot not fall in love with. On the surface it's full of bric a brac and collectables however dig deeper and you will find this cosy little shop is a major part of the local community in a sadly long term slowly redeveloping area. The owners themselves are worth the trip in itself, owners Jeff, a larger than life character and ex Hatton Garden silversmith and his lovely wife Andi bring a welcoming air of warmth and colour amid the shelves of memorabilia and items by local artists and collectors, Jeff's silver work is also available, most bespoke and reasonably priced. All in, Number Eight is a direct contrast to the many identical charity shops, it supports the community and when you leave you just know you'll be back even just to say hi. Saturday is the best day to go there as the area comes alive with its regular craft market, a great way to round off your visit.
